In Uganda, from 1971 to 1979 over 300,000 murdered after they were disarmed and in Rwanda, 800,000 people killed after they were disarmed.
I am amazed at people who really have not learned from history or perhaps they think that if they deny it, don't study it, or just ignore it, that it will not happen in America. With all that has gone on by the ruthless left in the past four years. You will have to be pretty stupid to not see what is coming if we ever give up our weapons. Many continue to say, "We have the Second Amendment so they can't take our guns". Really? Since the 1934 Gun Control Act the government hasn't cared two cents about the second amendment. And the left continues to walk right over it and we continue to type on our keyboards that "No, they can't do this, we have the second amendment!", while they continue to introduce no less than a dozen new gun bills this year already.
Even some states are now passing unconstitutional gun laws because they continue to believe that they can! Look at California, look at New York City and bastions of hell like Chicago. Listen to me. No state or municipality can legally pass gun law because the Constitution says they can't. Every state ratified the US Constitution thereby agreeing that it and it alone is the law of the land. If the Constitution is taken literally then infringing on the second amendment is off the table.
I sometimes wonder if anyone even knows what the 2A is for? I chuckle when election years roll around and we see silly-looking little men running for office dressed in their orange hunting vest with their double-barrel shotgun over their shoulder saying, "I have guns and I am for your 2A rights" only to do nothing after they get elected. Sure, in their world it is about hunting. In my world firearms are not only for hunting and enjoying the shooting sports but mainly my guns are Liberty's teeth, they are to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic, and specifically to put down a tyrannical government if ever needed. War is hell, civil war is even worse but to live without freedom is worse than anything outside of dying without the salvation that Jesus Christ offers.
Those who want to see government as a benevolent parent looking out for our best interests tend to interpret the second Amendment's militia reference as applying only to the military. To those who see the government as inherently corrupt. The second amendment is a means of ensuring that the populace will always have a way of defending themselves against threats to their freedoms. And then there are those who view the government is neither good nor evil, but merely a powerful entity that as Thomas Jefferson recognized, "must be bound down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution". To this group, the right to bear arms is no different from any other right enshrined in the constitution to be safeguarded, exercise prudently, and maintained.
It has come to that time in America. It is time for the normal everyday person to do the unusual. It is time for us to re-establish our claim to individual liberty and require that the Constitution be followed as intended. On September 17, 1787 thirty nine men signed the Constitution. They did so because a few years earlier the greatest document ever penned by the hand of man was signed, the Declaration of Independence! The first paragraph still causes passions within me to rise.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,”
Most of us claim to be conservatives yet listening to many I am convinced we do not even know the meaning of the word. I've heard all kinds of definitions over the past few years. Everything from, we're for lower taxes to we are pro-life. The truth is what we mean when we say we are Conservatives is that we believe in American Exceptionalism. American Exceptionalism is the idea that America is a unique chapter in human history. America is unique, not because they were against the tea tax and fought off a colonial power to gain their independence even though that is important it's not what makes America unique. Many countries have fought wars of independence before.
We are unique because we claimed a new basis of political legitimacy and that was that all men are created equal, that political legitimacy, is derived from the consent of the governed.
The majority of our elected officials no longer believe in American Exceptionalism. They are hell-bent on allowing people into our country that do not care for becoming American (some do) but rather lowering America to the same level of the countries they are escaping from. Politicians have encroached into our lives to the point that you are foolish if you think you are a free man any longer. What is in DC now are nothing more than the enemies of God, the Founders, the Constitution, all things moral and decent and have become the real domestic enemies.

For me? No! I will never shut up and I will not be quiet!

Serious times are coming and already here to some degree Lynette. There is about to be a division I believe between those that talk and those that WALK and talk. It is going to get interesting.
